Filtration

EWS (UK) Ltd offer a wide range of filtration equipment including:-

Cartridge & Bag Filters
EWS (UK) Ltd supply a wide variety of cartridge and bag filters to suit all kinds of applications. Housings are available in uPVC, polypropylene and stainless steel and media are available for filtering down to 0.2 µm, with options for surface and depth filtration. As well as particulate removal we also offer activated carbon filter cartridges, primarily for chlorine removal.

Activated Carbon
EWS (UK) Ltd offer a variety of activated carbon products to suit varying applications. Charcoal and coconut based carbons are available for chlorine and organics removal and Brimac (bone charcoal) is also available for FI removal and more specialist applications.

Smaller standard plant sizes utilise multiport valve technology for control of service and backwashing functions with larger filters using individual diaphragm valves for plant operation. We also supply carbon in exchange cylinders for use on smaller systems.

Iron & Manganese Removal
Some water supplies, boreholes for example, regularly contain levels of iron and manganese in excess of WRC recommended drinking levels. High levels of iron and manganese present in the water might also lead to process operational difficulties. On these types of supplies it therefore often necessary to remove iron and manganese to acceptable levels.

EWS (UK) Ltd supply filters incorporating a number of different media to fit the application along with ancillary equipment which is often required to maintain media condition such as sodium hypochlorite dosing equipment and chlorine or redox control instruments for control of dosing.

Smaller standard plant sizes utilise multiport valve technology for control of service and backwashing functions with larger filters using individual diaphragm valves for plant operation. For systems incorporating large numbers of filters and ancillary dosing equipment PLC operated control systems are available.

Multi-Media
Layers of sand and anthracite are typically employed in multi-media filters to remove particulates present in the water supply. Often multi-media filters are employed as pre-treatment to other water treatment equipment such as reverse osmosis plant on poor town’s water supplies to prevent fouling.

EWS (UK) Ltd offer a range of multi-media filters with smaller, standard plant sizes utilising multiport valve technology for control of service and backwashing functions. Larger filters use individual diaphragm valves for control of plant function. On more specialist applications such as polishing of effluent, bespoke designs are available incorporating the facility for in situ cleaning of the filter media.

Membrane
There are a wide range of membrane filtration options available from EWS (UK) Ltd, including reverse osmosis (RO), microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF) and nanofiltration (NF). Various membrane materials are also available including man-made polymers and ceramic membranes.

Whilst we offer a comprehensive range of standard RO plant, MF, UF and NF plant is typically more specialised, with bespoke plants built to suit client specific requirements.
